Richard H. Jackson, of Chula Vista, California, passed away on August 17, 2014. He was born on March 28, 1936 in Cook County, lllinois to Elmer and Sarah Jackson. After high school graduation he joined the United States Navy and went off to see the world. He married Sherry Lynn Jackson and was blessed with 35 wonderful years of marriage and two daughters; Robin Lynn Ziga, wife of Richard J. Ziga Jr. and Dawn M. Forsman. His legacy includes six grandchildren; Rebecca L. Wakefield wife of Shane S. Wakefield, Richard J. Ziga III, Randy A. Ziga, Racheal M. Ziga, Brandy L. Forsman and Destiny M. Forsman. Richard had many passions in life, among his favorites were spending time with his family, fishing, sailing and traveling the United States.

Richard was predeceased by his wife Sherry Lynn Jackson in 2000. Richard's final resting place will be next to Sherry at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Military Honors with a flag ceremony will honor his service in the military at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery on November 7, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Richard's life will be celebrated at the VFW post 2111, at 3rd and I Street in Chula Vista, on November 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.
