Richard R. LaFleur, age 78, passed away, Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Frances M. LaFleur with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Northampton, MA, the son of the late Roy and Ella (DeNomme) LaFleur, he resided in Dartmouth most of his life until recently relocating to Fairhaven.

Dick was a graduate of Northampton High School and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst Class of 1959. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He worked as the store manager of several Sears stores for over 30 years until his retirement.

Dick was a fan of all Boston sports teams. He enjoyed exercising at the New Bedford YMCA and having coffee with his friends. But his favorite thing in life was being with his family.

Survivors in addition to his wife are his five children, Ann Marie Taccardi and her husband Ted of Pittsford, NY; Sharon LaFleur of Fairhaven; John LaFleur and his wife Tami of Lincoln, RI; Christine LaFleur and her husband Jesse Taylor of Somerville, MA; Heather Andersen and her husband Erik of Fairhaven; eight grandchildren, Lucas, Emma and Ethan Taccardi, Lucy LaFleur, Maya and Sadie LaFleur, Maggie Taylor, Violet Andersen and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William LaFleur.

The family would like to thank those who compassionately cared for Dick at St. Luke's Hospital.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 9 am at the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10am at St Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4pm-7pm. Burial is private. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Franciscan Children's Hospital, 30 Warren Street, Brighton, MA 02135.

"Fran, Anne Marie, John, Sharon, Christine, Heather and all your families. I know Dick was proud of you all and your accomplishments. I was in his company..." Sue Taylor
