Richard Sewell Obituary

Richard E. Sewell was born on April 14th 1922 and passed away on March 17, 2014 at the age of 91, after a short illness.

Richard was the son of the late Roy H. Sewell and Grace A. Simpson Sewell. He proudly and honorably served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was retired from the Timken Company after 33 years of service.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys J. Sewell; his grandson, Benjamin Richard Goutras; his sister, Donna Robinson; and two brothers, Howard and Dale Sewell. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles R. and Jane Sewell of North Carolina, Lora L. and Gust Goutras of North Canton, and Douglas S. and Teresa Sewell of South Carolina; granddaughters and their spouses, Stacie and Paul Smith of South Carolina, and Stephanie and Douglas Vujas of Atwater, Ohio; and great grandson, Shane Douglas Vujas. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Sewell; and his sister, Dorothy Dearth.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 20th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21st at 12:00 noon at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Home Helpers of Canton for their compassion and care of our father in his last illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron Children's Hospital Cancer Fund.
