Webber, Richard Lee, 71, of St Petersburg passed away Monday 6/9/2014. He was born and raised in Middletown, Maryland the son of Arden Denis and Hilda Leona Ausherman Webber.

After graduating high school, Richard served in the US Navy as an aircraft machinist mate during the Vietnam conflict. Following his enlistment, he returned home and worked for the B&O Railroad. Richard later served in the US Army Reserves while working for various car dealerships as an auto body repair specialist and painter. He was most proud of his time spent building sections of the F-14 Tomcat for the US Navy at Fairchild Industries. Richard concluded his working career in 2001 by retiring as head of the Industrial Paint Department at Air Technologies Systems. In 2011, Richard and his wife Verna retired to sunny Florida.

He was a past member of the Pegasus RC Club, Catoctin Mnt Street Rods, Brownsville Ruritan Club, and the American Legion of Boonsboro. Richard regularly volunteered his time to visit with Hospice patients in the local community and help ease their transition.

He was a proud member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren where he participated in its many activities ranging from the Kitchen Committee to singing with the Touchdown Sunset Praise Group.

While in Florida, Richard was the chairman of the Fitness Committee for Bahia IV and volunteered his time maintaining the equipment in the fitness room and entertaining its patrons with his singular wit.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Verna Gardner Webber; son, Michael Lee Webber; and daughter, Angela Faye Harman. He was the proud Grandfather of five grandsons: Blaine Allen Harman II, John Richard Harman, Mark Gardner Harman, Robert Michael Webber, and Gregory Richard Webber. Richard is survived by his sister, Linda Lou Brandenburg.

Richard's greatest desire was that his family and friends come together to celebrate his going away party with the same joy he lived life. Memorial Celebration will be Wednesday 7:00 PM June 18, 2014 at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD. With a reception to follow. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Touchdown Sunset Brownsville Church of the Brethren Praise Band 1911 Rorhersville Road, Knoxville, MD or Suncoast Hospice 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL.

Richard lived life with great enthusiasm. He attacked each task whether great or small as a mission to perform at his personal best, encouraging others to follow.

Richard's legacy would be to live life to the fullest, do what you do with gusto, and love as if there's no tomorrow! He would remind us to wring every drop of enjoyment out of everyday life. Richard was a genuinely caring person. His smile, laughter and humor will be missed by all.
