Dear Mrs. Wiley and Family,
My condolences on your loss of a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. It was such a pleasure for me to interview Mr. Wiley for the entry I wrote on him in The Oregon Encyclopedia of History and Culture. I loved his self-deprecating humor and of course his delightful illustrations in the Dick and Jane series. Richard Wiley contributed hugely to Oregon's cultural scene!

Dear Lois and Family Members,
My thoughts go out to you at this time. Dick was such an amazing person. I remember all those wonderful potlucks filled with camaradarie and delightful banter between artists. His talent was beyond imaginable scope, and his memory will live on through his gift of art.
Warm Regards,
Margret and Dave Short

I attended a birthday party for Denise when we were in grade school. It was hosted by Dick and Lois. I remember what fun everyone had. Dick took us out in the boat and some of the kids water skied. I thought he was the nicest man ever. It was the best birthday party I ever attended thanks to Dick and Lois. My sympathy goes out to Denise, Lois and family at this very sad time.
