Rickey Lynn Louie-Burris who entered into this world on August 4, 1996 in Spokane, Washington the daughter of Richard W. Burris and M. Lynn Louie; unexpectedly left us all on April 18, 2012 from Nespelem, Washington.
A member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, Rickey was always very proud of her Native American Heritage, her parents being of the Colville and Blackfeet Nations.
A sophomore at Lake Roosevelt High School, Rickey always loved sports having played on various school Tennis, Baseball and Basketball teams, but her favorite sport was Volleyball in which she won awards and had served as 2012 team captain. Rickey had also enjoyed going to Sunday school with friends at Grand Coulee's Zion Lutheran Church, writing, doing art, interacting with others on "Facebook" and spending time with her many-many friends.
Predeceased by her dad: Richard Burris and grandpa: Dick Burris; Rickey is survived by her mom: M. Lynn Louie; brothers: Charles DeSautel, Dallas Burris, Josh Burris, Jamie Burris, Richard Burris Jr., and Cody Burris; sister: Karrie Samuels; grandparents: Dave Louie (Lois James), Sharon Weaseltail (Jim Schwab), and Malonie Burris; aunts: Lisa, Amanda, Cierra, Madison, Bobbie, Stella, and Ruby; uncles: Sonny, Dodie, Woodstock, Richie, Steve, Virgil, Alan and Robbie; Numerous great-aunts and great-uncles; nephew: Christopher DeSautel, niece: Talia DeSautel and Rickey's boyfriends: Alex Mills and Austin Frank. Special Thanks are also extended to all the families who so enriched Rickey's life and continue to be there so wonderfully for Rickey's family.
The following services were held for Rickey: 7:00PM, Saturday, April 21, 2012: Family Rosary at Lynn's Nespelem, WA home; 7:00PM, Sunday, April 22, 2012: Recitation of the Rosary and Wake in the Nespelem Community Center and 10:00AM, Monday, April 23, 2012: Funeral Mass and celebration of Rickey's life at the Nespelem Community Center which was followed by graveside services at Nespelem Catholic Cemetery.
Strate Funeral home of Grand Coulee, Washington is honored to serve Rickey's family.
