Come to me all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest, says the Lord." Rita Legendre Pizzolato "Ma-Ma Rita", age 93, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Baton Rouge. She was native and resident of Donaldsonville. A former Homemaker and Paraprofessional Adult Educator with Ascension Parish School Board. Survived by two sons Jimmie Pizzolato and wife Agnes (Newchurch) of Donaldsonville and Kenneth Pizzolato and wife Linda (Bourgeois) of Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law Evelyn Landry Pizzolato of Donaldsonville; five grandchildren Brian Pizzolato and wife Rhonda, Brad Pizzolato and wife Sandy, and Chad Pizzolato all of ...

Rita Legendre Pizzolato "Ma-Ma Rita", age 93, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Baton Rouge. She was native and resident of Donaldsonville. A former Homemaker and Paraprofessional Adult Educator with Ascension Parish School Board.
Survived by two sons Jimmie Pizzolato and wife Agnes (Newchurch) of Donaldsonville and Kenneth Pizzolato and wife Linda (Bourgeois) of Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law Evelyn Landry Pizzolato of Donaldsonville; five grandchildren Brian Pizzolato and wife Rhonda, Brad Pizzolato and wife Sandy, and Chad Pizzolato all of
Donaldsonville, Michelle Blanchard and husband Brad of Prairieville, Heather Garrot and husband Brent of Baton Rouge; eight great-grandchildren Ryan, Jessie, Katie, Sarah, and Molly Pizzolato all of Donaldsonville, Jacob and Kale Blanchard of Prairieville, and Anna Grace Garrot of Baton Rouge; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband Frank C. Pizzolato Sr. ; parents Claude P. Legendre and Elaine Rodrigue Legendre; son Frank Pizzolato Jr.; two grandsons Craig and Frank Pizzolato III; sister Velma L. Rodrigue; brother Wilfred Legendre.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 8:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Officiated by Rev. Paul Yi. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Hospice in His Care for their compassionate care and concern for Ms. Rita and her family.
Memorial donations may be made to Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church or Ascension Catholic School.
