(Bobby ) Covel III, Beth Covel Morris and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all of whom he loved and cherished dearly. Robert G. (Bob) Covel, Jr. of Merritt Island passed away on March 31, 2012. He was born April 24, 1927 in Washington, DC.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Jean Sewell Covel. Dad leaves behind his three children: Laura Covel Clark, Robert G. (Bobby ) Covel III, Beth Covel Morris and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all of whom he loved and cherished dearly. He also had many extended family, loving companion Donna Jean Jenkins, friends and longtime neighbors.
Bob was a Navy veteran and 33 year civil servant who retired from NASA in 1982. He was a 50 year, 32nd degree Master Mason and Shriner, along with other degrees as a Mason. He was also a founding member of the Merritt Island Masonic Lodge and an active member of many organizations and clubs. Dad also enjoyed photography, fishing, golf and shooting pool. Anyone who was blessed to know our Dad knew he lived every day to the fullest and always had a smile on his face.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday April 9, 2012 at 5:00PM at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island.
