Robert B. Burns Sr., age 90, of Birmingham, AL passed away on January 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Edna Burns and brother, Roland Burns.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Burns; daughter, Linda Logan (Jim); son, Robert Burns Jr.; grandchildren, Lisa, Greg and Alex Logan; 2 great grandchildren and several nephews and other relatives.
After graduating from the University of Alabama as a member of the ROTC, he became active in the United States Army. He served during WWII and the Korean War. Later, Robert worked at Stockham Valves until retirement.
Family will receive friends Thursday January 11, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel.
Graveside service will be Friday January 12, 2018 at Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
