Robert B. Paszkiewicz, 79, of Bellleville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Mercy Rehab and Care Center in Swansea, IL. Robert was born on February 10, 1938, in Washington County, Pilot Knob Township in Illinois.
Robert was born the second of seven children and enjoyed a close relationship with his brothers and sisters. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961 and was stationed in Germany. He was married to Mary Jane Niedbalski on May 30, 1963, and the birth of his four daughters followed soon after in 1964-1966. He was employed by Madison Warehouse until his retirement.
Robert was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan. His biggest joys were parties and celebrations with family and friends, fishing and hunting with his brothers, nephews, daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons.
Robert loved life, loved to joke and laugh, but most of all he loved his wife and family.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Anna, nee Brink, Paszkiewicz, parents-in-law, Leo and Helen, nee Piotrowski, Niedbalski, one brother, Larry Paszkiewicz, a sister, Leona Bathon, brother-in-law, Mike Bathon, and a sister in infancy.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jane, nee Niedbalski, Paszkiewicz of Belleville, IL; his four daughters, Michelle (Jim) Schmidt of Millstadt,IL, Susan (Eric) Flake of Belleville, IL, Sandy (Mike) Roam of Old Monroe, MO, Peggy (David) Harris of Belleville, IL; 11 treasured grandchildren, Zach Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, Sarah Schmidt, Rachel (Rob) Brethauer, Emily Flake, Caitlin (Dustin) Petry, Tyler Roam, Hunter Roam, Ryne Harris, Michael Harris, and Cody Harris; and one great grandson, Kyle Petry. He is also survived by his two brothers, Eugene (Donna) Paskiewicz and Chester (Pat) Paszkiewicz of Nashville, IL; his two sisters, Rose (Charles) Chandler of O'Fallon, MO, and Vivian (Mike) Price of Lincoln, IL, sister-in-law, Bonnie Paszkiewicz of Pinckneyville, IL; brother-in-law, Robert (Jeanette) Niedbalski of Smithton, IL, and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Robert will be missed greatly and mourned deeply by his family and friends. We will miss his smile, wit, jokes, laughter, and loving presence in our lives. He fought a hard battle during the last several years of his life and endured much to remain among his beloved family.
Memorial donations may be made to Althoff Catholic High School or Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Grade School both in Belleville, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, and on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Services: In celebration of Robert's life, a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Monsignor John McEvilly officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Belleville, IL.

Sounds like he was an amazing man and I'm so sorry you all have to endure this heartbreak. Know that his love for you all will never end. You will feel his presence forever.
