Ben Nelson, 60, passed away peacefully at his residence Wednesday morning surrounded by his loving family. Ben lit up any room he was in, and had the ability to bring a smile to the face of every person he ever met!
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 24 years, Carolyn Newsom Nelson of Huntsville; his 2 daughters, Jessica and Julia Nelson of Huntsville; his parents, Robert Benjamin Nelson, Sr. and Louise McWhorter Nelson of Cedar Bluff, AL; 2 brothers, Jeff Nelson (Crista) of Cedar Bluff, and Joseph Nelson (Debbie) of Brevard, NC; a sister, Mary McWhorter Nelson of Panama City Beach, FL; 2 nephews; 2 nieces; and numerous other relatives, friends, and colleagues, whom he cherished.
Ben was a proud veteran of the US Army. He attended Jacksonville State University and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan. Ben had the unique gift of making this world a better place to be--he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
