Robert Leist Obituary

Robert Bennett Leist, 88, of Louisville, entered eternal rest on October 12, 2016.

He was born in New Albany, IN to Earl and Mildred Leist. As a young man, he served in the US Army. Robert retired from General Electric where he was a material controls manager. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Parish, Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, including the Fifty-something Club, the Camping Colonials and St. Mary's Class of '42 (New Albany). He also enjoyed Woodhaven Country Club and Tanglewood Golf Course. Bob volunteered at the KY School for the Blind, St. Vincent de Paul Society and as a volunteer at the Black Mudd Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Pearl; his parents; and his brothers John and Paul.

Robert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his children, David (Carol), John (Theresa), Bart (Angie), Gary (Maria) and Joe; step-children, Diane (Bruce), Carmen (Brandt), Ben (Lauren), and Matthew (Molly); grandchildren, Greg, Sarah (Tyler), Julia (Andy), Brian, Sam, Manny, Cooper, and Ellie; and great-grandchildren, Addison, Garrett, Morgan, J.P., Knox, and Mila;

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Dr. followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation for Mr. Leist is Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3 PM to 8 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd.

Memorials to St. Vincent de Paul, 1015 S Preston St C, Louisville, KY 40203 are appreciated.
