Bob was born May 3, 1930 in Ripon, Wisconsin to Dorothy and Gilbert Lambert. He attended Ripon public schools and graduated from Ripon College in 1952. After serving two years in the US Army Finance Corps, he attended Harvard Business School, graduating in 1956.
He began his business career in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he met Margaret Meade, whom he married in 1961. Together they had three children and were married for 56 years until she passed away in July 2017.
Bob's business career involved several promotions and relocations until he finally settled in Dallas with his family in 1973. There he continued his career as an executive with aviation services companies until his final retirement in 1996. Cooper Industries, Cooper Airmotive, Aviall and Ryder Systems are among the companies where he was employed.
His philanthropic and social activities were many. He served 30 years on the Ripon College Board, including eight as its chair. He served nine years on the Jesuit College Prep Foundation Board, including two as it chair.
He was an active member of Northwood Club since 1974 and served on the board for eight years, in addition to serving as president in 1991. He was a member of the Salesmanship Club since 1994 and enjoyed his annual service activities with the Eric Jonsson Community School and the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament.
He was preceded in passing by his wife Margaret. He is survived by his sons John and Thomas (Nina) of Dallas; daughter Jane Lastelick; grandsons Luke and Ryan Lastelick, also of Dallas; and his sister Suzanne Marvin of Colorado Springs.

Bob, was compassionate and yet straight shooting people I've ever known. It was always fun playing cards at the club with him. I use to call him " the quiet one". When I did he'd put a finger up like he was shhhhhing someone. Ha! That. Ever lasted long he'd be right back in the thick of things as boisterous as always. Easy to miss but what a unbelievable adventure is he on now. He thought he was having a good time down here!

I served as a business turnaround consultant to Bob in his role as interim CEO for Aviall in the mid nineties. He was my sponsor into Northwood Club. For me, Bob was an icon as a leader and example for integrity, judgment and strength of character. Along with his many Northwood friends, I will miss him greatly.

Both Bob and Margaret were the best neighbors ever. They were always so caring and concerned about others, and ready to help whenever needed. They will be sorely missed, and John, Thomas and Janey are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bob was such a great supporter of his alma mater, Ripon College. I had the good fortune to meet him often when he returned for Trustee meetings and other functions ... always with an evident passion for the place and the people and the education and experiences provided.
