Dear Papa,
Thank you for being the loving, kind and generous father-in-law and Grandfather that you were. Your gentle disposition and sassy sense of humor when it came to nurses and your cane will surely be missed! I will cherish every fond memory of times spent in your company, and will live in peace knowing that you are in a better place. Special thanks and gratitude to Geri Slowinski, for your constant comfort and companionship to Papa, and for being a true example of what it means to love in sickness and in health. My love and thoughts are with you now and always. Peace be with you.

There is a famous proverb: Say not in grief he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was.
I will forever be thankful for the fond memories I have of Papa. He was loving, kind and affectionate.
He had a gentle disposition, gave hugs and kisses generously and he always called me sweetheart.
So many of the things which made my childhood magical and memorable revolved around Papa:
Step stools, baby cradles and book cases that he hand crafted with love; big family gatherings; Easter
Egg hunts; lighting the candles in the sand bags every Christmas Eve; the times Santa Clause came inside
Papa's house; Catching fish in the canal; watching Barney movies over & over again; playing with the
Big, heavy metal tic tac toe game; eating the best mangos from Papa's tree.
I will always be thankful that because of Papa, I have the best daddy, my wonderful Aunt Sue and
Uncle Rob, All of my cousins, of both love and blood, and a Grammy with enough love to make
Everyone of her grandchildren and great grandchildren feel special.
So although Papa is no longer here, or able to give hugs and kisses or call me sweetheart, I will always
think of him when I see a taxidermied fish, or a prosthetic leg, or a soft cardigan. I will remember him
lovingly, and I will live in thankfulness that he was
I love you Papa!
