Beloved Husband, Brother, Dad and Granddad, Robert L. "Bob" Miller Jr. was born on February 27, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee and he was raised in Florence, Alabama. He was a Christian, and his faith carried him throughout his life. In his boyhood years, he was known for being bright and mischievous. He had a fondness for animals and often talked throughout his life of his beloved boyhood dog, Skipper.
His first years after college were spent in education. He then joined Amoco Oil Company, where he ultimately settled in the Chicago area, and had 30 plus years of dedicated service in Marketing. His hobbies included a love of reading, history, golf, theology, chess and astronomy, and being a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide. These things gave him great joy and were often shared with his cherished friends and family.
Bob followed the angels on May 14, 2017. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Wendelin "Wendy" Miller and Lee Miller, and his step-children, Bryan (Donna) Zacharski, Beth Zacharski, Jennifer (Chris) Zacharski, and Joan (Jared) Bottarini. Bob also leaves behind two grandchildren, Chase and Corey, and five step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Lynne (Jim) Warren and his former wife Faye Darby Smith (Hal).
