Robert Dixon Adams, Sr. was born in Spottsville, Kentucky on June 9, 1921. He grew up in Castlerock, Washington where Bob graduated from the Castlerock Highschool. He then joined the Navy during WWII. He was honorably discharged after the war. Bob moved to Arizona in 1974.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Ruth. Together they have six children: Robert, Jr., Marcia, Russ (Christine), Cliff, Cindy, and Doug (Tammy) as well as twelve grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He will be remembered with love by all of his family and friends.

Bob worked as an air traffic controller for the FAA. After his retirement, he and Ruth worked at Chase Field with the Diamondbacks for fifteen years. They made many dear friends with coworkers and fans. Bob always had a smile, a joke or a song for all he met along life's way. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. He also enjoyed a spirited debate concerning politics or sports. Bob became a pilot as a young man and loved flying. Bob and Ruth enjoyed many years of love, fun, and adventures. They laughed along life's journey and shared their great love and joy with everyone they met. Bob passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on July 1, 2014. His precious Ruth was at his side, holding his hand and gazing into his eyes with love, as she has from the moment they met, fell in love and got married. Bob and Ruth have been devoted members of the First Christian Church in Sun City.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Sun City, 14001 N. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351. The service will be officiated by James Turner, Senior Minister.

Arrangements under the direction of Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, Sun City, AZ.

"Bob was special, he was always happy. He will be missed by all. I loved hearing him sing and laugh." Wendy Manning (Phoenix, AZ)
