Dearest Mary Kay, Colleen and Maureen, I just came upon your dad's passing while perusing facebook. I have fond memories of him, a real gentle person, who always had something nice to say to me when I visited. He was the first to show me how to put down sod in the back yard back in my college days. In 2004 I had the good fortune to drop in during an out-of-the way impromptu stop in Rockville, where I also found Colleen and Mary K. He had not changed one bit. I will keep him and your mom and all of you in my prayers always.

Dear Colleen, Mary Kay and Maureen,
Tania and I are sorry to hear your dad has passed from your lives. He is now with Sis and all of our Irish Clan that have joined the Lord. I can see them all in heaven's version of the backyard gathering at 611 North Garfield having a grand old time. All of us that had the pleasure of your Dad's company will remember his humor and the ever present smile. For Tania and I last time was at the reunion in Scranton a few years ago.
We wish you some comfort by thinking of the many times when laughter ruled the day and Irish songs flowed so easily at the Clans events.
With much love,
Bill and Tania

Some of the best memories of my childhood were made with Grandma and Grandpa Bop Bop. I used to look forward to spending a week with them in the summers and having them come down to visit us. Bop and I talked and enjoyed just spending time together. I couldn't have asked for a better grandfather. He was a wonderful person, and I have been blessed to know him. We will miss you, Bop.

Dear Mary Kay, Colleen, and Maureen...So sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Bob. You and all his family are in my thoughts and prayers. Although I didn't see him much I always remember him as a kind, gentle man. It is comforting to know he is once again with Aunt Sis, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Bumper, and my dad. May he rest in peace.

Uncle Bobby, was a special guy and a wonderful loving uncle. Through the years he always made us laugh and smile ! His gentle spirit and great sense of humor will be missed! I am happy for him that he is now with aunt Sis and all of the other great family members we have lost. He has certainly been a great patriarch of our family and a great role model for those who will follow in his footsteps. I think my favorite memory is a few years ago when he gave us a personal narriated tour of Scranton and told us all the wonderful stories of a boy growing up there and hanging out at the old swimming hole. Great memories, lots of love and rest in peace! Bailey girls , your Ormie cousins love you and we are here for you!

We will miss you Bop Bop! Thank you for so many great memories, and I will never see a set of pinochle cards, a two dollar bill, or a holly-shaped bow tie without smiling and thinking of you. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with my boys and know your influence will never leave us! Xoxo, the Eptings

Robert Arthur Bailey.
I'd like to preface this remembrance with a story I heard a Rabbi relate. God was going about his business trying to run the universe but kept being interrupted by one man's constant pleading. After awhile, God just couldn't take it anymore. The next time the man started in with his constant nagging, God appeared before him. "I don't do this much anymore," God said, "but I will answer one of your questions and in turn you will stop your constant whining." The man agreed. He began with "every day people are starving to death or dying of curable diseases; every day people are killing themselves in senseless wars; and every day too many people are living lonely lives. My question to you, God, is why don't you do something about this?" God simply replied "I did - I sent you."
Some 92-years ago, God sent Robert down to join the party. He grew up in his beloved Scranton, but his life was not always easy. He lost a brother and then his mother. When his country called on him during WWII, he served from 1942 to 1945 in North Africa and Italy. Because of his service, as well as the service of tens of thousands of his brothers-in-arms, he helped stop the slaughter of millions of innocents throughout Europe. Thank you Bob, you did good. Next, he married his sweetheart, Kathryn McCarthy, and raised three beautiful daughters. They, in turn, gave him nine grandchidren and eleven great-grandchildren. Thank you Bob for giving the precious gift of life to so many, you did good. Even after he retired Bob continued to help people. Working through his church and acting as a part-time social worker and part-time financial adviser, he aided the poor of his parish in getting assistance with food, clothing, heat, and shelter. He lived the Gospel: I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you fed me. Thank you Bob, you did good.
Last Sunday, Bob completed his journey with us. We can all take comfort in knowing that when he met his God face-to-face, God told him "Thank you Bob. You did all I asked of you when I sent you. You did good."
Love you and miss you.
Your son-in-law,
Terry M

My deepest sympathies to my Bailey Girl cousins, and their families. Uncle Bobby was very special to us, as we shared many happy family gatherings and memories. He lived a long and interesting life, and will be blessed to greet the rest of the family awaiting him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
