Robert (Bob) Ballard was born May 27, 1932 in Ellensburg, Washington. He graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1950 where he was active in sports. Bob was very proud of his military service. He joined the Air Force in 1952 and served 3 years. During the Korean conflict, he was a gunner on a B-26 Bomber flying in combat missions over Korea for 15 months.
Bob married Joyce Haight in 1953. Not long after leaving the Air Force in 1955, Bob moved Joyce and family to work for Aero-Jet Industries in California where he worked on missiles for 6 years.
They returned to Cle Elum where Bob became a deputy sheriff. In the late 1960s he started work in real estate, his true calling, starting at Sunlight Waters. He remained in real estate until 2006.
Bob was a member of the Cle Elum Fire Department, the Cle Elum VFW and was also a 63 year member of the Cle Elum Eagles.
Surviving Bob is his wife Joyce of 60 years, sons Jack (Tracy), Brad and daughter Brenda. His grandsons: Jason, Shane, Justin, Marshall, Casey, Tristen, Max, Jake and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Chuck (Bev), his sisters Bunny (Ed Fredrick) and Babs Ballard, and not to forget, his little dog Candy.
Services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, Veteran's Cemetery in Cle Elum at 12:00pm, followed by a reception at the Cle Elum Eagles at 1:30pm.
Bob asked for no flowers but that, if you wish, to make donations to Hospice Friends, 401 E. Mountain View Ave., Ellensburg, WA.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.My time with Bob was very short but he was just one of those unforgettable people that a person feels blessed just to have known,if only for a short time.
