I worked with Bob at Rocketdyne from 1962 thru 1964. A very talented, intense but friendly guy. He was well known for walking around with a coffee cup in his hand, splashing coffee on the floor. We joked about his having "whitecaps" on his coffee cup.

I worked with Bob for many years. He was a respected engineer, a wealth of knowledge, and a pleasure to work with. His presence will forever be a part of Rocketdyne's history.

I first met Bob in the 1960s. He was assigned to the F-1 Development Group of which I was the lead engineer. Bob was unique in that the could quantify and express mathematically rocket engine operation. I left Rocketdyne about 1969 and in 1977 Bob asked me to return to work with him on the Space Shuttle Main Engine. I owe him very much for that and I told him so years later.

Bob was an ICON at Rocketdyne and everyone knew and respected him. He was a good man and will be deeply missed.
