Susan and I have such good memories of uncle Bob - his good humor, the twinkle in his eyes. I always enjoyed being with him. He, my father, aunt Laura, and uncle Dick were always such a lively group; and everybody loved to dance!

Marlene, Robert and Gretchen, I loved Uncle Bobby and he was one of my blessings I counted in my prayers. I hope you find comfort in your memories of your beautiful, gentle father. I miss and love all of you....

What a wonderful man we have lost. A kind, gentle caring, sharp person who made everyone he met feel special. His compassion and commitment to Hospice of Wake County was boundless and I was blessed to have him serve on the Oktoberfest Committe for many years. He and Marlene were Mr and Mrs Oktoberfest, dancing to the music of The Little German Band. Bob and his buddy Paul Yoker were instrumental in making it happen. "King Keg", as we nicknamed him, made sure the event was fun, organized and safe. I am sad he is gone, but I am warmed by those precious memories and I will feel his presence every year at Oktoberfest time. Thanks, Good Man, for everything. I can see you and Marlene dancing, right now!

Bob was always there for my mother Marlene. I felt honored to spend time with him over the last 6 months and help him out a bit and glean some of the wisdom he shared. It was a gift to me and to my daughter to have the time we did have with him. He was sharp, caring and a witty man.

Dear Marlene, Gretchen and Robert,

My memories of your father are filled with smiles, many days of Hospice Octoberfest activities, Hospice training and more volunteering. He was a tireless supporter, advocate and patient supporter when men were scarce in such essential work.

His memory is filled with blessings as he shared blessings with others.

I shared being grandparents with Bob through my daughter Linda and son-in-law Robert's children. His death is a very personal loss to me and my family.
