Robert Wayne Bridges, 71, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 20th, 12:00 p.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64105 or to the Sierra Club, 440 NW Richards Road, Kansas City, MO, 64116.
Bob attended Hogan High School, received a BA in Economics from UMKC and completed a Masters at KU in Public Administration. Between degrees, Bob served four years in the United States Marine Corps and spent two years in the Peace Corps assisting with Agriculture Development. Bob retired as City Administrator of Clinton, MO, with crowning achievements including conception and completion of the Clinton Community Center, Police Station and City Hall. After marrying, Mary C. Oddo and Bob raised four boys, Frank, Scott, Michael and Bobby. Bob currently has seven grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by Lester Bridges, Leona and George Hilditch and Barbara Aulgar.
He will be missed.
