Clif Cauthen, 58, of Dallas, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Jack and Janet Cauthen on May 18, 1958 in San Marcos, Texas. Clif was active at Park Heights Baptist Church as a youth, a 1977 graduate of Central High School, where he played Bobcat football and then later a 1981 graduate of Texas A&M University. Clif enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The mountains were his "happy place", especially when skiing, mountain biking or driving his Jeep. Clif worked for The Arrangement in Dallas where he was an Interior Design Consultant and Sales Associate for over 15 years. His love of life and outgoing spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Clif is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Valeria Rylander, and Jack and Robbie Cauthen.
Survivors include his parents, Jack and Janet Cauthen; sister, Valarie Look and her husband, Dave; brother, Scott L. Cauthen and his wife, Stephanie; nephews, Jon, Bobby and Matthew Look, and Ryland Cauthen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at The Heights Church, San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Meals for the Elderly, The Heights Church or the giver's charity of choice. Family and friends are encouraged to share photos and memories as well as sending condolences and signing the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.

Cliff had a disarming laugh and a contagious smile. His wit was his biggest asset. We became good friends at the trailer park on Turkey Creek Road in College Station. I am sorry that I lost contact with him over the last years. He was a good friend. I will miss him. Guess I am going to have to wait to give him the next raz.

There are just no words to say all the different things that Clif meant to me. Before I met him and since then there has never been any experience in my life like my relationship with Clif. To say that I will miss you forever doesn't even begin to cover it. I meant when I told you on that summer night so many years ago and I still do. Love always Candis

Clif was a friend of a lifetime. Over the past 24 yrs he has always been there for me to give support only a true friend can give,or to tell me to get over it and move on. His honesty, integrity and sense of humor is something I will miss. God blessed me when he brought Clif into my life, and for that I will be forever Greatful. I look forward to the day we can jump on the mountain bikes again and set off our next great adventure. Rest in Gods hands my friend

Thoughts and prayers are with you always...Coach C., Mrs. Cauthen, Val & Scott. I was very fortunate to spend time with Clif at the Bobcat game last September in Dallas; and it was such a great visit. We attempted to catch up on just about everything we could fumble out of our "chatter boxes" that night!!!! I'm quite sure (because of his demeanor) Clif was a fantastic son and brother; and was loved by many family members and friends. RIP teammate; you made a lot of lives better because of your presence. I'm still in shock.......
