Mr. Robert Paul DePlachett
Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Paul DePlachett, age 92 of Good Hope, will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Adjoining cemetery, with Dr. Ralph Andrews officiating. Mr. DePlachett will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Mr. DePlachett was born on September 8, 1920 in Erie, PA to the late Robert P and Helen C. Lenox DePlacido. He passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family. Robert spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. After his retirement, he moved to Good Hope, became a long time member at Good Hope Baptist Church, ran "Bobs Store" for 10 years, and he witnessed too many, and never met a stranger. Growing up in Philadelphia, he began a love of baseball; he was one of the "knothole gang" at the old Shibe Park, watching the Philadelphia Athletics. He also enjoyed fishing and tennis, but was passionate about the Braves Baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Olene Hinkle DePlachett; three 3 – Daughters – Kim Martin of Druid Hills, NC; Linda (Don) Queen of Lexington, NC; and Teresa (Stephen) Collier of Jackson, TN; five 5 – Sons – Robert DePlachett of San Diego, CA; Terry DePlachett of Tustin, CA; Mark (Katia) DePlachett of Brazil; Jon (Carrie) DePlachett of Athens and Charles (Emily) DePlachett of Huntsville; eleven 11 – Grandchildren – Garrett, Nathan, Heather, Erin and Matthew DePlachett, Lyndsay & Alex Queen, Sierra LaRue, Joseph, Daniel & Samuel Collier; three 3 – Great-Grandchildren – Aysha Wilkins, Preston Hoffman and Davin DePlachett; and a Host of Brother & Sister-in-Law's, Nieces & Nephews and other family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
