DEVILLE, Robert Strachan Robert Strachan DeVille passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday December 6 , 2009 at the age of 84 years. Robert was born in Edmonton, AB on December 2, 1925 and raised in Gunn, AB. In 1943 he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and was sent to England during WWII. When Robert was sent back to Canada, he was a POW guard in Wainwright, AB. In 1948 Robert started working at Alberta Government Telephones where he worked for thirty-five years, retiring in 1983. Robert married Greta June 13, 1955 in Rockyford, AB. Robert is sadly missed by his wife Greta DeVille; daughter Bonny DeVille-Colucci...

Robert is sadly missed by his wife Greta DeVille; daughter Bonny DeVille-Colucci and Marcello Colucci of Calgary; son Kerry DeVille and Joanne DeVille; son Trevor DeVille and Holly DeVille all of Calgary; sister Mary Rail of Vancouver; sister Margaret Visser of Calgary and five nieces. Robert is also survived by grandchildren Lacy-Jo and Keith Piquette of Edmonton, Chase Christianson and fiancée Christina of Calgary. Robert was predeceased by his parents Robert and Elsie DeVille; brothers Donald and Richard; sisters Elsie, Dorothy and Isabelle. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to The Royal Canadian Legion, 606 – 38 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8J9. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
