Ragley - Robert Thomas Gibbs, 82, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Robert served in the U.S. Army and worked for many years with Texas Eastern. He was a former Rancher, a Volunteer Fireman for Texas Eastern and belonged to several hunting clubs.
Surviving are his children, Thomas Gibbs of Houston, TX and Vickie Gibbs of Ragley; siisters, Hattie Marie Arnold of Utah; Lenore Pickering of DeQuincy, LA; stepsons, Wayne and Geraldene Gray, Jerry and Mary Holland, Tommy and Jean Fletcher, Myron and Paula Lessard, John and Nelwyn Gray and Leonard and Tina Gray; thirteen step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by this first wife of 45 years, Crama Sutton Gibbs and Sewilla Gray Gibbs, son, Michael Gibbs, parents, sisters, Nana Lou Peterman, Nellie Sue Cooper, Janise Karen Gibbs and one niece and one nephew.
His service will be at Topsy Baptist Church, Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Thursday, 4:00pm until 9:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow the service in Newton City Cemetery, Newton, TX. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
