NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Robert "Bob" Lawrence Gilreath, age 64, at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Brother Dave Rousse officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday. A native of Pomona, California and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gilreath passed away at 4:15 am on Thursday, July 23, 2012 at Belle Teche Nursing Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday.

A native of Pomona, California and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gilreath passed away at 4:15 am on Thursday, July 23, 2012 at Belle Teche Nursing Home.

Mr. Gilreath was employed as a Procurement Agent with General Dynamics for many years in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana. While in Texas he was a member of the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) in Waco. He was an avid golfer and an incredible bowler and enjoyed fishing.
He had many great attributes and an outstanding character. He was an inspiration to many of his family, friends and caregivers. His selflessness and the love he had for his family will never be forgotten.

Mr. Gilreath is survived by his wife of 28 years, Loretta Cahill Gilreath of New Iberia; two sons, Robert Gilreath, Jr and Christopher Gilreath and wife Jenea' all of Rogers, AR; three stepchildren, Billy Smith and wife Becki of Tulsa, OK; Laura Raines and husband Tommy of Camden, AR and Chris Dauterive and husband Patrick of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Aubre', Halle', Zoe' and Kayla; eight step grandchildren, Aleigha, Sarah, Aaron, Catherine, Steven, Dustin, Jacob and Courtney and nine great grandchildren.
He is aslo survived by one brother, David Gilreath and three sisters, Linda Hedgcoth, Carol Ross and Sandy Waite all of Califronia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Marilyn Hampe Gilreath.
