Robert Heinritz Obituary

He was born September 4, 1924 in Lansing, the son of the late Earl and Anna (DePlanche) Heinritz, and passed away March 9, 2013 at the age of 88. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 96th division during WWII. Robert was active in the Church of the Resurrection where he served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his association with the Golden Shamrocks, a senior citizens group. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Doris ; wife, Catharine; daughter, Catherine; brothers, Erwin, James, Earl, and Wilbert; sister, Margaret Moynahan; grandchildren, Bobby and Cassidy. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara; his children Patricia, Virginia, Robert and James; Barbara's children, David, Janet, Richard and Judith; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert worked for many years in wholesale electric sales. He was an avid U of M fan and held season football tickets for 40 years. Robert will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 14th at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:30 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection, or to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, 1020 S. Washington, Lansing, MI 48911 in memory of Robert.The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com
