Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles,
I've only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
my going has eased my hurt,
and given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
not as I am now, but as I used to be.
Because, I will remember you all,
and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I've only gone to rest a little while.
As long as I have the love of each of you,
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

Bob and Sally were my next door neighbors in Princeton Lakes subdivision almost 20 years ago. I never saw Bob without a smile on his face and a happy heart and he found humor in everything. I remember when he had to wear this metal contraption after a major surgery that looked like a halo...and that's what Captain Bob called it...believe he said it made him look angelic! There was always a little bit of the mischievous devil in that angel....bet he's up in heaven now telling a few jokes and making everyone laugh. I will miss him but have great memories of time spent with him and Sally. Suzi Riedling

To the family of Capt. Robert A. Irvin,
On behalf of the Delta Golden Wings, the fraternal organization of retired Delta pilots, of which Capt. Irvin was a member, I wish to extend to you the condolences and sympathies of our members at the passing of Capt. Robert Agustus Irvin, one of Delta Air lines oldest pilots.
The bond of friendship and respect from time shared in the cockpit as Delta pilots is an enduring one that transcends generations. His spirit will now be a companion to aviators through the ages.
Sincere Best Wishes,
Capt. James J. Hoogerwerf (ret.)
