Robert Felix Jackson SR. born on February 9, 1942 to Albert George and Majorie Lee Jackson in Houston, Texas, passed away January 12, 2011 in Kingwood, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marjorie Gail Armstrong. Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Jackson; son, Robert Felix Jackson Jr. (Vickki); sisters, Jo Ann McCloud (Jesse) and Sheryl Jackson; brothers, Darrell Jackson (Ann), and Charles Jackson; grandchildren, Robert Felix Jackson III, Nicholas, Calvin and Ryan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. Robert Felix Jackson SR. born on February 9, 1942 to Albert George and Majorie Lee Jackson in Houston, Texas, passed away January 12, 2011 in Kingwood, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marjorie Gail Armstrong. Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Jackson; son, Robert Felix Jackson Jr. (Vickki); sisters, Jo Ann McCloud (Jesse) and Sheryl Jackson; brothers, Darrell Jackson (Ann), and Charles Jackson; grandchildren, Robert Felix Jackson III, Nicholas, Calvin and Ryan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Robert was a 1960 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, where he participated in several school activities. He graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1964 where he was a member of the ROTC Corp. After graduation he served in the United States Army as a 2nd. Lieutenant and was promoted to the rank of Captain before his honorable discharge. In 1967, Robert graduated with a Masters of Public Administration Degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Other than a brief period as a teacher for the Lamarque ISD, he spent his entire career of 33 years with Exxon in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.
Robert was a man of strong values and touched the hearts of many he met in a special way. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Visitation with the family will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 P.M. We will travel in procession to Houston National Cemetery for interment at 2:30 P.M.
In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family suggests that memorials be directed to the charity of your choice in Robert's name.
