Robert F. McKnight, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:28 A.M. Sunday December 30, 2012 at Sterling House. He was born November 3, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio and the son of the late Harley (Bob) and Irene (Hollinger) McKnight.
Bob was a proud Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during WW II. In 2008 he took the Honor Flight to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. He was also a member of the Greenville V.F.W. and the Ansonia American Legion.
He and his wife were retired from 50 years of farming.
Bob is survived by his wife Myrtle (Lindemuth) McKnight of Greenville. They have celebrated 65 years of marriage. Also his children Gail (Nancy) McKnight of Rossburg; Pam (Mark) Hierholzer of Ansonia and Robert Kim McKnight of Rossburg. His grandchildren Jeremy McKnight and fiancé Lora; Ashley (Ryan) Rose; Molly (Mike) Jutte; Creighton Hierholzer; Adalynne Hierholzer and Kaela Hierholzer. Great grandchildren Solomon Hierholzer; Thaddeus Hierholzer; Sara Jutte and Ava Rose. A sister Virginia Ullery of Silver City, New Mexico and a brother Harold McKnight of Ansonia.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday January 4, 2013 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. The Greenville Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Services Friday at the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Honor Flight Network or Grace Resurrection Center.

We're really sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have always felt close to the Mcknight family having grown up in Horatio and Bob's dad use to tease me as a kid. Bob was a wonderful guy to do business with, a great friendly smile and was nice to talk about the good old days. I'm sorry we are out of state and not able to be there to give you all a hug.
