Robert Derrell Morris, 85, of Alger, died peacefully Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014, at his home. He was born in Bellefontaine, on November 25, 1928, to the late Emmett A. and Merle (Robinaugh) Morris.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Morris; his son, Richard Alan "Dick" Morris; his sister, Arlene (Alfred) Braden; and his brother, Emmett Richard "Dick" Morris.
His is survived by three of his children: Christie Ferraraccio of Angola, IN, Debra (Tim) Smith of Alger and Barbara (Wayne) King of Hudson, IN; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dave (Jody) Morris of West Liberty.
A graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Robert was a member of the Masons and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He started working at Ford Engine Plant on Aug. 11, 1959, and retired Apr. 1, 1987, as a foreman in the piston and rocker arm department.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m., at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 900 W. Grand Ave., Lima. He will rest in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

John Derrell (Jack) Wilcox
Thank you for giving me such an interesting middle name. I haven't seen you since I was a little kid, but always knew my first and middle names came from my Dad's two best friends, Jack Brinkley and Derrell Morris. I hope the three of you are now back together flying the skies again in that old Stearman biplane and having a great time sharing memories.
