"Buffalo Bob"

May 11, 1943 – April 20, 2014

Robert Lee Ossinger, 70, of Everett, WA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Esther Ossinger of Everett; Daughters: Cheryl (Dirk) Balda of Stanwood, and Brenda (Brian) Shepard of Marysville; Grandchildren, whom he was so proud of: Kyle Balda, Michael (Janelle) Balda, Anthony Ossinger, Jacquline Shepard, Kaylee Balda, and Samantha Balda and one great-grandson, Ryon Balda. He is also survived by brothers: Jerry (Karyn) Ossinger of Walnut Creek, CA and Tom (Louise) Ossinger of Puyallup, WA; his 'favorite' sister Linda (Marney) Larsen of Gold Bar, WA; and sister-in-law: Mary (Raymond) Freeman of Las Vegas, NV. Bob also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford (1975) and his mother Mamie (1965).

Born in Seattle, Bob grew up in Ballard and Greenwood, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1961. He continued his education, studying Accounting at Everett Community College. During his high school years he was very involved in playing competitive sports. He also spent many years as a coach and referee for youth sports. He loved sports, especially the Huskies and Seahawks. For several years, Bob was involved with the Lynnwood Jaycees, serving one year as President. Bob was a Chef by trade and worked many years for Smitty's Pancake House in Seattle as well as John Petosa and Mr. Bill's Restaurants in Everett. In 1962 he was a cook at the Seattle World's Fair. During his career, Bob owned Cascade Restaurant in South Everett and most recently Buffalo Bob's Restaurant in Mukilteo, from which he retired in 2004. For 13 years he was the proud host of "Buffalo Bob's Bridge Bunch". He loved gathering with his friends to play bridge and (in years past) pinochle. Bob was a true, dear friend and touched the lives of so many. He will be sorely missed!

A special Thank You to the doctors and nurses at The Everett Clinic and Providence Hospital, Colby Campus – ICU Department, for the loving care and support provided to Bob and his family.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Purdy & Walters, at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA www.floralhillslynnwood.com
