Robert John Pachucki of Merritt Island, FL, known to most as "Bob," passed away on February 24th 2014 at the age of 63.

He is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Maria "Mia" Pachucki of Merritt Island, FL; his daughter Alicia Pachucki and son-in-law Vince Venero of Altamonte Springs, FL; his stepdaughter Cari Emerson, son-in-law Cliff Emerson, and grandson Hunter Cantrell of Milton, FL; and his stepson Corey Friddle of Key West, FL, as well as his brother Richard Pachucki. He was predeceased by his mother, Katherine Pachucki of Piscataway, NJ and his father, John Pachucki of Ocala, FL.

Bob graduated Kearny High School in New Jersey in 1968 and afterward attended Bloomfield College for a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was a veteran of the United States Army with an honorable discharge in March of 1973, and began his career in Law Enforcement with the Kearny Police Department as a Patrolman in June of that same year.

He moved to Florida and worked with the Hialeah Police Department in 1975. He started his career with the Florida Marine Patrol on March 1st 1982, only weeks before his daughter, Alicia, was born, and retired 23 years later on May 31st, 2005 from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission with the rank of Sargent. He served most of that time in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami with his home in Coral Springs, FL. Bob was a member of both the Florida Police Benevolent Association (FPBA) and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) throughout his career.

After retirement, Bob was a proud "snowbird" with homes in Farmington, ME and Merritt Island, FL. He held membership in The American Legion in Farmington and the Moose Lodge #2073 in Merritt Island. His hobbies included collecting firearms, reloading ammunition, and most of all, hitting slot machines around the country with friends and family.

Bob was known far and wide for his wonderful sense of humor, his love of animals, and his dedication to his country and the values he fought to uphold throughout his lifelong career in law enforcement. He was passionate about politics and many friends and loved ones hold dear the memories of spirited discussions of current events. But it was his dedication to his family, including his three beloved dachshunds Buddy, Cooper, and Elmo, that will be ever lasting.

While his passing was sudden, unexpected, and far too soon, Bob's legacy lives on in each of his children and his grandson. He was more than just a husband, daddy, or brother - Bob was a best friend, a buddy, the kind of man everyone wanted to make proud. He will be missed dearly and remembered daily by all who knew him.

A memorial to celebrate Bob's life, laughter, and legacy is in the process of being planned, but a date remains undetermined. His family is eagerly awaiting the improved health of his wife, Mia, who fell sick at the same time as Bob, and who would like to attend.
