Life Is But A Stopping Place
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys.
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord
Our fallen soldier may be gone, but never forgotten.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Robert will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

I have been abundantly blessed to have become the stepfather to Allan and his brother Kyle when I married their mother.
Over the three-plus years that I have known Allan, we have become very close and I have seen a somewhat reserved young man flourish into a confident, mature, responsible and accountable adult.
Allan brought immeasurable joy, laughter, love and happiness to his family as well as those around him. He loved life and strived to live every minute of it for all it was worth.
I will greatly miss things like grilling three pound steaks for him and seeing him cuddled up with Christian on the sofa, giggling and flirting and falling deeper and deeper in love. I will miss things like seeing him conquer kneeboarding and watching him teach himself how to waterski. I will miss that infectious laugh of his that always made me laugh too and that silly, mischievous smile that his baby photos reveal that he has always had and never lost. I will miss seeing how he cherished his relationship with his mother and how he was, like myself, an unapologetic mama's boy and it made no difference who knew it. Allan was man enough to readily go into combat without hesitation. This is something we all know but what many people do not know is that he was also man enough to happily hold his mother's purse while she shopped for hours and man enough to eagerly help those less fortunate and weaker than himself. These are just a few of the ways that he quietly and continually showed what a very high quality of a man he was.
The world is a darker place without Allan but in his few short years with us, he has blessed us beyond belief and we are all much better people from having known him - even if only momentarily.
Allan and I spoke in private often about God's will for us as His children, about the free but precious gift of salvation that Christ offers all who will receive it and I know beyond any shadow of doubt that Allan left this world with his salvation. Anyone that knew Allan for over sixty seconds knew that he was abundant in fruits of the Spirit. The comfort that I have in losing this precious, wonderful young man is in knowing that he is now and will forever be in the glorious and magnificent presence of Almighty God and that the next time I see him, I will never have to lose him again.
