Robert Steven Rabinowitz of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest on March 13, 2014 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. Robert was the husband of Carol E. (McHugh) Rabinowitz. Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 9, 1950 the son of Irv Kantor and Charlotte Pogoralsky Rabinowitz. Robert was a computer programmer for Emblem Health. He was a loving husband, father and uncle. Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran, a lifetime member of Weight Watchers who loved Star Trek, junk food and TV shows. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carol Rabinowitz at home; son, Jonathan "Rabbi" Rabinowitz of Washingtonville, NY; daughter, Cari Rabinowitz of Charlotte, NC; nieces: Michelle, Justine, Mikela and Victoria; nephews: Robert and Robbie as well as his faithful friend, Thor. Visitation will be on from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th with a 5 p.m. Service at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992. Cremation will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Robert's memory to the Taub Institute at https://giving.columbia.edu/giveonline/?schoolstyle=523.
