Robert E. Reid Sr., 86 of New Bern, died July 4, 2014 at CarolinaEast Medical Center. He is proceeded in death by his wife Virginia Hicks Reid, and his brother Letcher Reid. Robert severed his country in the Virginia National Guard, and was an honorary Commodore in the Richmond yacht club. He is survived by son Robert E. Reid Jr. & wife Robin of New Bern; daughter Deborah R. Reemtsen & husband Gary of King George, VA; sister Jean Cross of King William, VA. three grandchildren Jennifer Desai, Kimberly Skrzycki, Melanie Reemtsen; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emilia, Brennan, Brodie, Lanie, Harper and Cameron. Robert severed his country in the Virginia National Guard, and was an honorary Commodore in the Richmond yacht club.

He is survived by son Robert E. Reid Jr. & wife Robin of New Bern; daughter Deborah R. Reemtsen & husband Gary of King George, VA;
sister Jean Cross of King William, VA. three grandchildren Jennifer Desai, Kimberly Skrzycki, Melanie Reemtsen; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emilia, Brennan, Brodie, Lanie, Harper and Cameron.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 6, 2014 at 2 PM at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service at Cotten Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Williams to officiate.
