Robert Shaw Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2014.

ROBERT "STACY" SHAW
West Des Moines
Robert Stacy Shaw, 65, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. At his request Stacy will be cremated and no services are planned.
Stacy was born in Los Angeles, CA the son of John and Louise (Duro) Shaw. He was a lifelong resident of West Des Moines, a Valley High School graduate, and attended Grand View and William Penn College. Stacy's artistic and creative abilities led him to the homebuilding business. For many years he helped build beautiful homes in the metro area for Superbly Built Homes.
Surviving are his partner in life of 32 years, Randy James of West Des Moines; sister, Susan (Dale) Cowden of Norwalk; brother, Steven (Becky) Shaw of Winterset; nieces and nephews; and his good friend and neighbor, Ed Rise.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Daniel Gervich and his staff for their care of Stacy.
Stacy was loved by all who knew him and his dry sense of humor will be greatly missed. Online condolences may be left at www.mclarensresthavenchapel.com

Stacy has been a good friend for over forty years. Although I was living in Colorado and now Minnesota for most of that time, I frequently came back to visit my home town. And those trips wouldn't be complete without stopping by Stacy's. With my parents, aunts and uncles now gone, I haven't been back for many years. But visiting Stacy and Randy again had been an intention that regretfully I now learn had been put off for too long. Marsha and I are sad and will miss him.

My condolences. I have a few memories for days long gone by. Most of which I will keep to myself but know would bring a smile to his face.

I always remember him helping my grandpa and my mom with Superbly Built Homes. He would alway tease me about stealing my ear. He was a good man and a hard worker. You all are in my thoughts during this difficult time. He will be missed.

Susan, Steve and Randy, please accept our condolences on Stacy's passing. He was such a funny little kid that had such a great imagination. I still have very fond memories of all of us growing up on Ashworth Road.
