Robert Paul Steen of DuPont March 20, 1925 to Oct. 28, 2013 Veteran Robert Paul Steen died Monday in Tacoma. He was born in Denver, Colo. to Ole and Susan Steen. He graduated from Seattle's Roosevelt High and Northwestern University, Ill. Robert married Florence Ingersoll on Oct. 25, 1945. He served in the Navy during World War II, Korean War and was commander of the USS Brannon. He worked at Pacific Northwest Bell, and was active in Boy Scouts. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, and loved dogs. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Florence. He is survived by son, Robert P. Steen II; daughter, Sharon Gianacakos...

Robert Paul Steen died Monday in Tacoma. He was born in Denver, Colo. to Ole and Susan Steen. He graduated from Seattle's Roosevelt High and Northwestern University, Ill. Robert married Florence Ingersoll on Oct. 25, 1945. He served in the Navy during World War II, Korean War and was commander of the USS Brannon. He worked at Pacific Northwest Bell, and was active in Boy Scouts. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, and loved dogs.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Florence. He is survived by son, Robert P. Steen II; daughter, Sharon Gianacakos (George); daughter-in-law, Debbie Steen; and grandchildren, Jaelynn Hagen (Kory), Robert P. Steen III (Katie), Janessa McVay (Wesley), Nicholas Gianacakos, and Anthony Gianacakos; and five great-grandchildren.

Service will be held Friday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. Donations may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
