I have not had the pleasure of meeting Bob's family, only Bob himself years ago. He was my first cousin twice removed and would regularly visit with my grandmother in New London, CT. Everyone in the family looked forward to his visits, we enjoyed his company and the stories he would tell. When I was in the 3rd grade I wanted to be an astronaut and he encouraged my interest by sending letters, NASA photos and other items. I still treasure them along with my memories of his visits North. My condolences to Bob's family, he will be missed by so many.

To Mary and family, I think I can speak for many in the stamp collecting community that our heartfelt condolences are offered to all. Bob was a great guy in so many ways, and to me personally, as we both shared memories of New London, CT. Bob knew many in my family from his upbringing in New London, and it was by chance that I met him down here in Florida. He was my mentor back in the 1980's in stamp activities both locally and statewide. He will be missed by many, and his generosity and friendship touched all who met him. R.I.P. my good friend Bob...

Dad
It has been so wonderful having you as my father-in-law. We will always share one thing we were both from the north the same town. It has been a honor having you in my life you took the place of the father I lost so long ago. Your kindness and gentle nature, willing to always help who needed it. I will always remember the good times we had going over pictures of New London and Norwich CT area, your stories always held me captive.
My heart now has a hole in it where you held a place.
I will never forget you, but it gives me peace to know that you are with Sara and Dottie.
Please give Sara a huge kiss and hug and tell her I will see both of you again.

My Uncle Bob was very dear to us in Oregon and we will miss him a lot. He was a man that liked to travel and take photos every where he went then sit at the table for hours and identify the back of each one. He was a soft spoken man that had a lot to say because he had experienced so much in his life time to share with you. 98 years he experienced a lot. He was such a gentle man, a caring man, He was a generous man, He was a man who didn't know a stranger. He was always there to lend a hand and go where he felt he was needed. He had a big heart. He had a lot of love to spread around to us all. He never complained much. He was just a kind man. We all loved him and sad to see him go. Knowing he is in a better place makes it easier . Uncle Bob, we love you and may you rest in piece.
