What a Beautiful Service we had last night. Everybody did such a great job.
I was proud of my Mason Brothers. Bob was friends to all these Brothers. Jack did a great job. Bob's son and nephew did a good job as well as the Navy. Music was good. George Feaster was the man behind the scenes. He really looked after Family, Brothers, and Friends.

I was in Mr. Wilson's class at Gulf Jr. High during 7th and 8th grades (81-83). He was a very patient teacher when it came to a new music student, and I remember his classes fondly. It was from this experience, that I learned how to read and play the clarinet. Thank You Mr. Wilson for giving the give of music to all. You will be missed very much.

Uncle Bob, we will all miss you. You shared your love of music with all of us and encouraged those of us, such as myself, who did not inherit the Wilson musical talent. I know you are no longer in pain and will be making beautiful music in heaven.

One of my favorite teachers at GHS. I took chorus in 1969 and he was the director. One of the kindest, most soft spoken men I have ever known, although he could be tough when the occasion arose. You will be greatly missed. I will see you once more in glory land.

From the days at LHS in the late 40s until the last performance that Bob played with my orchestra I will never forget his contribution to music and musicians. I have many recordings of our performances together which I will cherish. He was without a doubt the finest Bass player that I ever had the pleasure of working with. A real gentleman and a friend. We will miss you but God is getting one of the best for his celestial orchestra.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Wilson was awesome and I had such a great time in band with him from 1971-74. He made me feel very welcome when I moved to NPR and joined the Buccaneer band. I have tons of wonderful memories of him. Bless him for putting up with Jay Seletos and me in the flute section! I'm still a music lover and that's been passed on to my children as well. To this day when I go to football games I remember all the cheering he let us lead for the teams. He was a saint and my heart goes out to his family. He will be missed by many. Peace and love, Faith Greising (Kircher) GHS '74

I was sad to learn about Mr. Wilson's passing. My sincere condolences to his family. When it was Gulf Jr. High, I played in the band 7th & 8th grade ('81-'82/'82-'83). Mr. Wilson was a patient and kind man, he enjoyed music, and he was fair and honest with his students. Even though they would sometimes frustrate him mightily, he would always have a smile because he understood goofy Jr. High kids. One crazy home game it had started to rain right before we went out on the field - we were announced as the "Gulf Jr. High marching in the rain band". We all got pretty soaked, but there was no lightning, so we played it to the end. Here's to you, Mr. Wilson - I'm glad to have known you.

Mr. Wilson was a fantastic band director and he has left a wonderful legacy thru his love for music to all the students he taught over the years, including me. Prayers to his family, including my fellow classmate Clay.

It's been almost 40 years since I last saw Mr. Wilson. Having been a part of the band at Gulf High School you couldn't help being influenced by his quiet, caring dignity. Many of the lessons he taught by his caring spirit have stuck with me all these years. I know there are countless others who were also touched by this great man. What a testimony to a true educator. Thank you, Mr. Wilson.

Just heard the sad news; my sincerest condolences to the Wilson Family...
Will never forget his friendly demeanor, hands off style during two years of expert independent study tutelage, and his introduction to the Dick Grove School of Music that got my musical career off to an educated and well balanced start, and kept me interested in music and school...
RIP, Mr. Wilson - and Thank You.

I never had Robert Wilson as a teacher, but we were acquainted. I played football from 1969-72. We may not have had a winning team but we had a winning band! When the other team's bands were playing and celebrating victory, our band was playing as loud or louder to encourage Buccaneer football players and Coaches. Though it has been over 40 years since I ran on the field to “Go Go Buccaneers” I hear the fight song in my mind and heart like it was yesterday! Mr. Wilson wrote the words and the tune to “Go Go Buccaneers” and he also wrote the Gulf High School “Alma Mater”. Since I heard the news today I've been hearing the band play loud and clear! My thoughts and prayers are with the Wilson family. God Bless!

A super person and friend of Sally and myself. He has a great family history in Largo. Most important he was a very kind person. Roy Terepka was my Coach as I became a Mason but Bob Wilson and Bob Fleeman were brothers who were alway there for me. Both of his Bob Wilson's brothers were very active Masons. A lot of people whose lives he touched will miss him.
