In 1973, Roberta and her daughter Denice took a trip to Cidra, Puerto Rico, where they visited the Melendez Family. Bill was a catcher for the Cocoa Astros and Roberta became close to his sister Nitza. In 2008, she moved from Cocoa to Altoona, FL where she took up residence with her daughter, Denice. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 48 years, Donald; daughters Nanci and Debra(deceased in infancy); and four older siblings: Dolores, Elena, Louis and Carmen, all deceased (Louis died in WWII, and is buried in Arlington).
