Rodulfo Catalan Rodriguera was born in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines on September 25, 1921 to Maximiliano Rodriguera and Celedonia Catalan. He was the second child of six children.

As a youth Rodulfo was an altar boy in the Catholic Church in his hometown. After high school he became secretary to the first Muslim convert, Reverend Cuadra, who later became a Christian minister.

In 1937 Rodulfo had an encounter with the Salvation Army at an open air meeting that changed the course of his life. The meeting was led bu one of the Swedish pioneer officers who played the piano accordion. Rodulfo , being a musician himself, was attracted to the music and stayed. He listened to the gospel being preached and accepted Jesus as his lord and Savior.

In 1940he felt the call to be a Salvation Army Officer. With Reverend Cuadra's encouragement he entered the Salvation Army Training College. While in training college war broke out and all of the cadets and officers were taken prisoners by the Japanese, but through the grace of God were later released. Shortly thereafter he was drafted as a guerrilla and served as such until th the end of the war.

After th the war he received his commission as a Probationary Lieutenant of th the Steadfast Session and was appointed as music instructor at the training College.

In 1947 while serving at the Training College he met Vivian Saguil and they were later married in 1948. They have subsequently been partners in Christ and happily married for the past 69 years.

In 1950 Vivian entered the Salvation Army training college after their first son George was born. Rodulfo and Vivian served as corps officers at three different corps. Cebu Central(5 years), Urdaneta(2years) and La Paz Corps(6 years0.

In 1961 while in the La Paz Corps Major Rodulfo was sent as a delegate to the International College for Officers In London. Vivian was left in charge of the Corps for six months while he was away.

In 1963 he was appointed as the Training Principal and faithfully served three and half sessions of cadets.

In 1968 he was appointed as the Youth Officer and also the Literature Officer and thus was responsible for the publication of the bi-monthly, War Cry.

In 1970 he became the first National Officer to hold the position of General Secretary, which is the second-in-command for all the Salvation Army's operations in the Philippines. At that time he received the rank of Brigadier. He also served on the Executive committee of the National Council of Churches as well as the Billy Graham Crusade Committee being held in Philippines.

In 1978, upon their request, Rodulfo and Vivian were transferred to the US Western Territory and they were Corps Officers of the Hilo Corps in Kauai. While serving in the Lihue Corps for 4 years they assisted victims of hurricane Eva. During the time he also served as a member of the Rotary Club of Kauai.

In 1984, they were transferred to their last appointment at the Phoenix ARC, where he served as Chaplain for two years.

In 1986 Rodulfo with his wife Vivian retired in Phoenix, Arizona. After his retirement he continued his faithful service as a soldier and band member of the Phoenix Citadel.

In 1995, while on vacation in London, he suffered a major stroke which severely affected his mobility. Through hard work and faith in our Lord he overcame many of his challenges all the while never losing his positive attitude and faint in our Lord. On Sept 6, 2017 he peacefully went to be with our Lord, whom he loved and faithfully served.
