Roger Amick was called to his heavenly home on February 2, 2013. Reverend Dr. Adrian Harris will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 7, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park immediately after.
Roger was a successful business owner, an avid bowler, and a devoted church member. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis and Lucile Amick.
Roger is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna K. Amick; children; Dwayne Amick (Shannon), Scott Amick (Mika), Leslie Nixon (Jeremy) and six grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil Amick, Paul Amick (Georgia) and one sister, Helen Lowe and .countless other family members and friends along with his beloved and loyal canine friend of 14 years, Pepper. He was a steadfast fixture in so many lives. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, from 6pm to 8pm, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Amick's passing. My memories of him all involve his committment to Pepper and her adoring looks to him. He brought her often to see us at the veterinary clinic. I have always believed that the devotion a person exhibits for their animal is a reflection of how they treat others, so I can only imagine how hard it is to lose him as a member of your family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
