Ronald G. McMullins, 75, of Crystal Lake passed away July 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born March 31, 1942 in Molus, Kentucky to Charlie and Elizabeth McMullins. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army. On February 14, 1991 he married Brenda Runions.
Ron worked at Dow Chemical in Crystal Lake for several years. He loved classic cars and enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses. He also spent many hours in his garden. Ron's true hobby though was working as a DJ. He and his wife made a great team at weddings and different occasions.
Ron is survived by his wife, Brenda of Crystal Lake; his children, Marty (Laura) McMullins of Island Lake, Felicia Ritchey of Tennessee, and Chris McMullins of Tennessee; his siblings, William (Ett) McMullen of Kentucky and Jesse Helton of Ohio; his step-children, Randall Runions of Fox Lake, Rhonda Runions Hermes of Crystal Lake and Sean Runions of Fox Lake; his grandchildren, Megan (Aaron) Grassel of Cary, Eryka McMullins of Island Lake, Brian Emma of Oak Lawn, Fallon of Tennessee, and Steven and Aaron, both of Wisconsin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Friday, July 28 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. There will be a memorial service at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
