Ron and I were friends for many years. We took many classes together at State while completing our graduate degrees. I never met anyone who was a lifelong learner. We spent 2 summers in an Oak Ridge program where Ron entertained us with his impressions. I will miss seeing Ron.

Ron and I worked together at Starkville High School. I so enjoyed our conversations on a wide range of topics. Ron was a pleasure to work with, always with a smile on his face. I will miss following his posts on Facebook. I will miss Ron.

Praying for the family. Mr. Newell taught me various science classes and Spanish when I attended Mabel High School (MHS) and graduated with the Class of 1995. He was a great teacher who was very smart. He loved teaching. He had a great sense of humor as well. Never a dull moment when he was around. He will be greatly missed. We (students of MHS) love him very much. Remember, God is always by your side. He will carry you through.
