Ronald Stanley Minion was born in Newark, New Jersey on February 2nd 1941 and died August 9th 2017 at home after a long illness. Ronald lived at Bonnie Brae Boys' Farm, Millington, N.J. from the age of 12, graduating from Bernards High School of Bernardsville, N.J. He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, worked at the Pentagon as well as serving on the USS Saratoga. He retired after 23 years from Tinker AFB. He believed that freedom came with a price and he served with pride. Ronald was a man who loved his family with all his heart. His love didn't stop there but was extended over to his friends. He loved volunteering whether it was playing Santa at a family function or dressing up in a silly costume while he was volunteering or Heartland Hospice he knew that a smile or a laugh could change the outcome of someone day, it brought him such joy. Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary Haffey Minion and son Daniel Minion of Shawnee, OK, a son by a previous marriage, Kevin Minion of Clintwood, Virginia, a sister, Maureen Melton of Holmen, Wisconsin, and a brother, Gary and Ellie Minion of West Columbia, South Carolina, In addition to many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ethel Buckley and Harry W. Minion. His father Harry S. Minion and mother Mary Buelow (Minion) Bataille all of Newark, N.J. Please join us as we honor his memory 10:00 AM Wednesday August 16th 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church 39307 W. MacArthur Shawnee, OK. Viewing of the body will be prior to service and after. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.
