Ronald Derwood Blanks Ronald Derwood Blanks, 80, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. For fifty-seven years, he was the devoted husband of Ann Elliott Blanks. Born March 19, 1929 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Charles Blanks, Sr. and the late Hallie Farmer Blanks and was also preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence C. Blanks, Jr. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry, after forty years of service. Mr. Blanks was a lifelong member of Amelon United Methodist Church. and an active member of the Madison Heights Ruritan Club. In addition to his wife Mr....

Ronald Derwood Blanks, 80, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. For fifty-seven years, he was the devoted husband of Ann Elliott Blanks.
Born March 19, 1929 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Charles Blanks, Sr. and the late Hallie Farmer Blanks and was also preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence C. Blanks, Jr. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry, after forty years of service. Mr. Blanks was a lifelong member of Amelon United Methodist Church. and an active member of the Madison Heights Ruritan Club.
In addition to his wife Mr. Blanks is survived by two sons, Michael Blanks and wife, Carol and David Blanks and wife, Angela, all of Forest and four grandchildren, Charles D. Blanks, Sydney C. Blanks, Tori C. Blanks, and Tyler A. Blanks.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Amelon U.M. Church with the Rev. Dr. Paulo DaSilva officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
