Mr. Ronald W. Knapp, 71, of Powder Springs, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013, 2pm at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Dallas, Ga with Father Adrian Pleus officiating. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
A native of Yonkers, NY Mr. Knapp was retired from Cobb Police and a double Purple Heart recipient from his tour of duty in Vietnam with the US Air Force. He was very active with St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and for that, the family has requested no flowers but to honor Mr. Knapp donations may be made to the building fund for St. Vincent De Paul at 680 West Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132.
Those whom survive Mr. Knapp are his Wife – Janis Knapp of Powder Springs; Sons – Ronald William Knapp of Goodwater, AL, and Alex Knapp of Powder Springs; Daughters – Donna Marie Silinski of Poughkeepsie, NY and Denise Marie Knapp of Dallas, Ga; Brothers – Richard Knapp of Powder Springs and Bobby Knapp of Deland, FL; 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 6 – 9pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw.
