Ronald Mefford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2014.

MEFFORD, Ronald (Ronnie) L., age 63, of Fairborn, passed away July 11, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born April 28, 1951 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Jesse L. Mefford and Joan F. Davis. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Francis Larkin and a very special uncle, Thomas Davis. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Ramey); brothers Richard Mefford of Enon and Michael Mefford of Fairborn; children Kelly (Tom) Mader of Fairborn, Lora Mefford of Fairborn, Scott (Shi) Mefford of Springfield and Heather (Danny) Bell of West Carrollton (children with his first wife, Brenda Henderson); Regina Doyle of Celina and Jesi and Jane Mefford of Fairborn (children from his current marriage); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that were very special to him. He is also survived by an aunt, Mary Mefford of Florida and many cousins and friends. Many will remember Ronnie for his love of music and the endless hours spent playing "name that tune"; all will remember him for his sense of humor, which could be ornery at times. He had a contagious smile, a kind heart and a love for life and Honey Brown. Although we will continue on with our lives, his passing has left a huge hole that can never be filled. A celebration of life will be held at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME, 3970 Dayton – Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH on Friday, July 25. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - noon; services from noon - 1:00 p.m.; with burial at the Fairfield Cemetery in Fairborn, OH immediately following. After the services, the family will be holding a memorial picnic at George Rogers Clark Park's Silver Heels shelter in Springfield from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., where friends and family can spend the afternoon sharing in Ronnie's love of fishing and the outdoors. Messages of sympathy and support to Ronnie's family may be made at: www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ron was quite the pleasure to work with. I was very unhappy when I was unable to hire him. I hope he knew that he was a great driver for me and it was certainly my pleasure to have known him. I wish you all the best and again, my condolences.

Kind Regards

Ronnie my first memory of you is your old blue van that smelled like fish! LOL you came into my family as a friend and then became a true cuz to me. I will miss being able to just pop in at your home and feel welcome. may your children find peace in knowing the pain is gone and that you are with them always the rain your tears and the sunshine your smile. your roughness is a part of your charm and you will always me loved and missed by anyone that met you. Dad,

It's been a week ago today that we lost you... it's still so hard to believe. Knowing you are no longer in pain only makes it slightly more bearable. I wish we could've had so many more years together; I just feel like we lost out on so much. Not a minute goes by that you aren't in my thoughts. I love you so much. Give grandma, grandpa and uncle Tommy a kiss for me, and be there waiting for me when my time comes. I love you.

Kelly
