Ronald C. Sloan IRMO – Funeral services for Ronald C. Sloan, 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Youth or The Ronald C. Sloan Fund, 400 River Rd. Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Sloan was born June 27, 1948 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was a son of the late Arthur Brooks Sloan and Sydney Taylor Sloan. Mr. Sloan was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Ronnie earned a degree in Industrial Drafting at Midlands Technical College. He was the owner of Zodiac Greenhouses for thirty years and also worked at Northern Tool for five years. During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Navy for four years. Ronnie loved working on his 1971 Chevrolet Camaro and loved being with his wife and his children – they were his life!
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife, Harriett Bickley Sloan; son, Brandon Bickley Sloan (Kristen); daughters, Brittany Renee` Sloan (Jason) and Bridgett Annell Lake (son-in-law, Philip); granddaughter, Olivia Annell Lake; sister, Betty Sloan Sanders and brother, Terry Sloan.
